Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TVLeague ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TVLeague app for iPhone and iPad, its home-screen widget, TVLeague on the web at app.tv-league.com (the "web app"), and tv-league.com (together, the "Service"). TVLeague lets you make picks and predictions on reality TV shows, join leagues with friends, chat with league members, and compete on leaderboards.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account information. You sign in with your mobile phone number. We text you a one-time code to confirm the number is yours (message and data rates may apply). We use your number only to sign you in and to confirm it's you before your account is deleted. We don't show it to other players, use it for marketing, or sell it.
• Display name. The name other players see. You pick it when you sign up and can change it anytime.
• Profile photo (optional). If you add one, you pick a single photo from your library. Only that photo is uploaded, resized, and stored. We do not access the rest of your photo library.
• League information. Leagues you create or join, league names, descriptions, cover photos, and invite codes.
• Picks, predictions, and votes. Your picks, prop predictions, and weekly poll votes, and the scores that result from them.
• Chat messages. Messages you send in league chat.
• Purchases. If you buy "Remove Ads," Apple processes the payment. We receive only confirmation that the purchase is active. We never see your payment details.

Information collected automatically

• Push notification token. We store a device token so we can send the notifications you allow (for example, when picks open, a poll closes, scores are updated, or someone posts in your league chat) and refresh your home-screen widget in the background. If you haven't allowed notifications, none are shown. When you sign in, Firebase Authentication also uses a silent notification to confirm the request comes from a genuine copy of the app.
• Age range signal. When you create an account, we ask iOS for your age range through Apple's Declared Age Range feature. We only learn whether you are 18 or older. We do not receive your birth date. See Section 7.
• App integrity checks. We use Firebase App Check with Apple's App Attest to confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the app. This helps prevent abuse and does not identify you.
• Usage and diagnostic data. The app includes Google Analytics for Firebase. It collects usage information such as app opens, screens viewed, session length, app version, device model, OS version, approximate location based on IP address (country or region), and an app-instance identifier.
• Advertising data. Unless you have purchased Remove Ads, the app shows banner ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect device information, IP address, ad interactions, and identifiers like the identifier for vendors (IDFV) to serve ads, limit repeated ads, measure performance, and prevent fraud. The app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so it does not access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). You can turn off this sharing for personalized ads for free; see Your privacy choices.
• Website data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and visits. It does not use cookies or your browser's storage and does not track you across other websites. It receives the page address, the referring page, your browser and device type, and your country based on IP address, and shows us only totals.
• Meta Pixel (website). Pages on tv-league.com (except league invite links) load the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) which pages you visited, along with your IP address, browser information, and a cookie (_fbp) that identifies your browser. Meta may connect this with your Meta account, and we use it to measure and target our ads on Meta. This counts as "sharing" for advertising under California law. The pixel does not load if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or you opt out; see Your privacy choices.
• Google Analytics (website). Pages on tv-league.com (except league invite links) also use Google Analytics to show us how the site is used, such as pages viewed, how visitors found us, and approximate location. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) that identify your browser and sends Google your IP address, browser and device information, and the pages you visit. Google may use this data under its own terms, including to improve its products. It does not load if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal or you opt out; see Your privacy choices.

The web app (app.tv-league.com)

The web app collects the same account, league, picks, and chat information described above. A few things work differently in a browser:

• Sign-in and integrity checks. Instead of App Attest, the web app uses Firebase App Check with Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise, and phone sign-in uses reCAPTCHA, to confirm requests come from a real browser and not an automated script. reCAPTCHA collects hardware and software information, such as device and browser data, and sends it to Google.
• Age check. The web app asks for your birthdate to confirm you are 18 or older. The birthdate is checked in your browser and is not saved or sent to us; we only record whether the check passed.
• Browser notifications (optional). If you allow notifications in your browser, we store a browser push token, used the same way as the app's notification token. Turn them off any time in your browser's site settings.
• Analytics and ads. The web app includes Google Analytics for Firebase and shows ads through Google AdSense. Google may set cookies and collect your IP address, browser and device information, and ad interactions to serve and measure ads and prevent fraud. Analytics and personalized ads only run after the consent message allows them, and stop if you opt out (see Your privacy choices).
• Browser storage. The web app keeps a copy of your leagues, picks, and chat in your browser's storage so it opens quickly and works on a weak connection, plus small settings such as an invite code you followed. This stays in your browser and is never shared with other players; signing out removes most of it, and clearing site data for app.tv-league.com in your browser's settings removes all of it.

Information stored only on your device

The app caches some data on your device so it loads faster. It also shares your league standings with the TVLeague home-screen widget through a local app group. This data stays on your device and is cleared when you delete your account.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• Create and run your account and sign you in
• Run leagues, record picks, calculate scores, and show leaderboards
• Deliver league chat and send the notifications you allowed
• Show your display name and profile photo to other players
• Show ads (unless you've purchased Remove Ads) and honor your purchase
• Advertise TVLeague on Facebook and Instagram and measure those ads, and understand how tv-league.com is used, using visits to the website (unless you opt out)
• Understand how the app is used so we can fix bugs and improve it
• Enforce age requirements, prevent spam and abuse (for example, chat rate limits and league-creation limits), and keep the Service secure
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your chat messages, picks, or profile to target ads.

3. What other players can see

• Any signed-in TVLeague user can see your display name and profile photo. These appear on leaderboards, rosters, and in chat.
• Members of your leagues can see your picks and scores for that league, the chat messages you post there, and the league's cover photo.
• League commissioners can remove members and delete chat messages in their league.

Your phone number and notification token are never shown to other users.

4. Service providers we share information with

We share information only with the providers who help us run the Service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. If that happens, this policy will continue to apply to your information.

5. Data retention and account deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active.

You can delete your account at any time in the app or the web app: Profile → Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm with a code we text to your phone number. When you delete your account, we:

• Delete your account record, notification token, display name, and profile photo
• Delete all of your picks, votes, and scores
• Delete all chat messages you sent
• Remove you from every league. If you were a commissioner, we transfer the league to another member. If you were the last member, we delete the league, its chat, and its cover photo.
• Delete your sign-in account, including your phone number, and clear the data cached on your device

We keep a record containing only your internal account ID and the time it was deleted. We use this to stop a deleted account from being re-created during the brief period before its sign-in session expires. Copies of deleted data may remain in our providers' systems for a limited time before they are permanently removed. Analytics and advertising data held by Google are kept according to Google's retention settings and policies.

If an account is banned for breaking our Terms of Use, we keep a record of the ban (the account ID, its display name at the time, the reason, and the account's phone number) so the ban can be enforced and appealed.

Leaving a league (without deleting your account) removes you from that league. Your previously sent messages in that league may remain visible to its members.

6. Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile. Change your display name or remove your profile photo from the Profile screen.
• Notifications. Turn push notifications on or off at any time in iOS Settings → TVLeague → Notifications. In the web app, use your browser's site settings for app.tv-league.com.
• Ads. Purchase Remove Ads to stop seeing ads in the app.
• Do Not Sell or Share. Turn on Profile → Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information to stop your device and app activity being used for personalized ads. It's free, and you don't need to buy Remove Ads. See Your privacy choices.
• Delete your account. See Section 5.
• Access, correct, or delete your information. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@tv-league.com. We will respond within the time required by law. We won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Legal bases (EEA/UK users). We process your information to perform our contract with you (running your account, leagues, picks, and chat), for our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, analytics to improve the app), with your consent where required (notifications and, where applicable, personalized ads), and to comply with legal obligations.

Your privacy choices (Do Not Sell or Share)

We do not sell personal information for money. When the app shows ads, Google AdMob receives device information and app activity, and the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics on tv-league.com send Meta and Google your website visits. These may count as "sharing" for personalized (cross-context behavioral) advertising under California law and similar laws in other US states. You can opt out for free, at any time.

On this website: use the button below, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. Either one stops the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics from loading on tv-league.com and clears their cookies. The button applies to the browser you use it in, so use it in each browser you visit us from.

Opt out on this browser

For the app, use either of these:

• In the app or the web app: Profile → Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. In the web app it also stops Google Analytics and personalized AdSense ads in that browser. It takes effect right away. Ad requests then ask Google for restricted data processing, so ads are not personalized, and Google Analytics for Firebase stops using your data for ad personalization. The choice is saved to your account, so it also applies when you sign in on another device.
• By email: write to support@tv-league.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share" and the phone number on your account. We will apply the opt-out to your account, and it takes effect the next time you open the app.

You may still see ads after opting out. They just won't be personalized. Remove Ads is a separate, optional purchase, and you don't need it to opt out. We won't treat you differently for opting out. You can also ask someone you authorize to send the request for you.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sharing: tv-league.com doesn't load the Meta Pixel or Google Analytics for a browser that sends one. We don't respond to Do Not Track signals, which have no agreed meaning; use Global Privacy Control or the button above instead. In the app, use the Profile switch.

Sensitive information. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

7. Children

TVLeague is not intended for anyone under 18. When a new account is created, we check the age range iOS provides (in the web app, you enter your birthdate, which never leaves your browser). If that check confirms the user is under 18, we immediately delete the account and its data, and access is blocked. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us at support@tv-league.com and we will delete it.

8. Security

We protect your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access rules that limit who can read each piece of data (for example, only league members can read a league's chat), server-side validation of picks and messages, and app-integrity checks. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International transfers

We are based in the United States. Our service providers may store and process your information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from yours. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
